<CheeryCherry>
Excuse me???
<melancholyman>
a mutual friend saw it and decided to take matters into her own hands. by throwing me off a roof.
[ more like paws, but whatever. ]
<CheeryCherry>
Okay first of all, it is NOT my fault that your friend saw my advice and took it as "throw my friend off a roof" because that is absolutely not what I was getting at!!
<melancholyman>
she can't fly either, by the way. terrible spotter.
<CheeryCherry>
Seriously, she didn't even talk with you first? Who throws someone off a roof?!
<melancholyman>
<CheeryCherry>
wait you're friends with trish???
Who ARE you?
<melancholyman>
yes trish? pink bear? is there another trish i haven't met??
and what do you mean who is this, it's abbacchio, obviously.
...
wait were you not.
were you not in on this?
[ oh. oh no. ]
<CheeryCherry>
WHAT?!?! you thought I was IN on some plan to throw you off a ROOF????
I didn't even know WHO YOU WERE until literally right now!!!
I thought I was just giving advice to a random person
I didn't know your handle or network address!!!
How in any world would it make sense that I was IN ON THIS?????
<melancholyman>
trish just used your posts as inspiration, i guess.
[ ... ]
sorry?
<CheeryCherry>
I do NOT like to be accused of things I don't do. >:(
And moreover! That's just dangerous and irresponsible, and I have NO idea what Trish was thinking. I would never take part in something so reckless.
[ lol. lmao. lol. she genuinely believes this at least. ]
<melancholyman>
[ yeah, no. abbacchio doesn't know riley that well, what he does know is that she's friends with giorno and therefore reckless by association. ]
<CheeryCherry>
Just as long as you understand that I had NO part in this.
did you fly though? Like
when she threw you off the roof, did you fly?
<melancholyman>
no. sort of? mostly it was falling until it wasn't falling.
i don't know if i'd go so far as to call it flying
<CheeryCherry>
What did you DO when it wasn't falling?
like what is there besides flying and falling? which was it closer to?
no subject
it was more like stumbling up stairs. in the air

That's PROGRESS! That's the start of flying, see?
You just gotta keep doing that until you can really control the way your wings move through the air!
help she looks so proud in that icon
[ At least she's not calling him a parachute. ]
it didn't feel like much progress, but...
it did feel kind of good.
EVERYONE SHOULD FLY!!!
You're getting control of something new.
so even if it wasn't a lot, if it felt good then I say it's progress.
You're figuring out how you feel about it.
Right?

i think i was struggling with viewing them as an extension of me like you would arms, rather than this... weird cumbersome addition that was always there and mostly got in the way.
[ Huh, kind of like his Stand. Anyways! ]
maybe now that that initial issue has been addressed, it will be easier? i'm not sure how you're supposed to get in the air from the ground, though.
no subject
I bet so!!
About it being easier I mean.
From the ground it's much more about strength of your wings. THAT takes a lot of practice, which is why I recommended a high place for starters.
It also helps to get a running start, when you're starting out, both up high and down low.
Try to get used to the way it feels when your wings catch an upward draft and look for those!
no subject
i'll keep that in mind, thanks
genuinely
i only wish i'd actually figured all this out before the weather started to turn, now that it's getting colder, i expect we'll be in for heavier winds and rain soon. [ He pulls a face at the laptop. ] and snow.
no subject
I regained my flying abilities around this time last year after not being able to for awhile and it SUCKED to get back to it when snow started coming down.
[ It sucked for a few reasons, actually! ]
The rain isn't good either but only sort of.
I really like the rain so I like flying in it, but you need to be just as careful about flying in the rain as walking in the rain.
Monsters can still catch colds.
You're welcome, in any case. I guess I've forgotten how it feels not to have it active. I didn't think about it.
no subject
[ He might grouse about it, complain that he hates getting wet and how it ruins his hair, but. It's also an important reminder. Maybe even more so, now. ]
i know that it can make traversal inconvenient, though, and i suppose it's that part i don't care for
anyway, uh. sorry again for you know.
assuming you had something to do with all this
no subject
It's a harpy thing.
Thank you very much for the apology. I appreciate it. :)
[ and she would've resented if she didn't receive one im sorry shes still a nightmare- ]
I hope this makes the next time you try flying easier, and that you can do it on your own terms, instead of being thrown off a roof!
