Oh. You don't— You don't have to call me sir… [ A frown. It's strangely uncomfortable to be addressed as such, comes with a weight he wasn't expecting. It's a term that's used to show respect towards elders or for people in positions of a higher authority, two things he most definitely isn't. ] Abbacchio is fine.
Okay. No coffee. I can get you something else, water? Or—maybe you need to step out and get some air?
[ It probably can't hurt to take a breather for a few minutes without being cooped up; he doesn't know about her, but for him at least it's… Stifling? Being inside for long periods of time. A couple of others have said similar, and he's assuming at this point it's related to having wings. ]

Riley has no idea that this man is so close in age to her. He has this look in his eye—the way he carries himself— and it makes her look at him, and see a grown man, not a guy who could've been a senior when she was just starting high school. His offers, at least, remind her so much of Fugo that it gives her startled pause, as for a moment she feels like she's back in the kitchen of apartment 807, once again one foot in this time and one foot in another. She blinks at him, and against her will tilts her head in quizzical birdlike wonder. ]
Uhhh. [ Her feathers twitch, ruffling and then immediately setting flat again. ] I... Sorry, you just...reminded me of... [ Doesn't matter. Stop. Breathe. Of course he would resemble someone he- lives with, works with? Works with is the vibe Riley's gotten from Giorno's group, from what Giorno's told her, piecing it together like a jigsaw she can't see the final picture for— ] ...You know, sure, that's... Water's fine. Do, ah- you know, where the kitchen...?

Yeah, I got it.
[ A hand gesture to indicate he'll be right back and then he's wandering off in the direction of the kitchen, tail curling tightly as he goes.
In the kitchen he forgoes making coffee—instead, he pours two glasses of water. It had been an offer made not because he'd actually wanted the coffee himself but because she'd looked so keyed up, like the distraction from everything going on right now might help in a small way, even as imposing as he is.
She had started to say that she'd been reminded of… something? She'd cut herself off, but her words still stuck with him, and he's left wondering what she might have said otherwise. What exactly had he reminded her of? With how quickly she'd brushed it aside, he assumes it can't be anything good. He got the impression he'd surprised her in some way with how she'd looked at him, not that he could say why.
Before long he's returning to where she's seated and holding one of the glasses out towards her. ]

It...has lead Riley to wonder a few things, though. A few things she hasn't asked, that haven't been clarified.
Her smile is subdued. But it's there, when he hands her the glass and she takes it. ]
Thank you. [ As she spies his own glass: ] Ah, oh, no coffee?

[ Drinking a full cup of coffee outside of breakfast time is a no, really; unless it's just a shot of espresso. Though, given how backwards his schedule is now, he's not really sure what actually constitutes "breakfast time" anymore.
Still, she looks a little less put out now. He can't really blame her for any initial misgivings, he's not exactly the picture of someone who might be friendly, less so when approaching teen girls who are complete strangers — of course, he doesn't know her actual reasoning for being curious about him. Heaving out a sigh he glances at her, looking her over briefly. She can't be much older than Trish, surely… She shouldn't even be here if he's honest — although if she's away from whatever the hell is being broadcast that can only be a plus. ]
This probably isn't how you figured you'd spend the evening, huh?

But, he's been here for awhile today. Who knows what kind of schedule he's on. Especially since he's got the same former job as Giorno... At least, she assumes, with what she knows about what Giorno got up to.
In response to his question, she snorts out an awkward laugh, one that she only lets out because of how tired she is. ]
No. Not really. Not...to this extent. [ No monsters are going to get hurt... How stupid. It feels bad, to think of Maya's warning that way. But right now, she can't be anything but bitter, hurt. ] I'd do anything to...keep these kids safe, of course, but... I didn't want it to be like this. ...You?

Her response has his attention, though. The way she says she'd do anything to keep the children here safe, she says it so earnestly. ]
I don't think anyone would want it to be like this… [ He sighs heavily and sips at the glass of water. ] I can't say it was what I had planned, but I'm only here as a favour to Giorno. The kids are at least better behaved than drunk assholes at the casino.
[ Not that he'd had high hopes for the day in the first place, given his general dislike of celebrating his own birthday. As the time draws closer to midnight, he gets the sense that this definitely ranks as one of the worst. ]
