Like, if I don't want to, I can just tell you.
[ Okay mostly. Usually she's quite the people-pleaser, but. Well, she thinks she can actually keep her end of that this time. Like she doesn't particularly want to talk about Aunamee. Or excessive murder. Or stuff like that. ]
< r.gardner >
<CheeryCherry> ; oh i hecked that previous username rip
I'd ask for the same but you seem like a really honest kid.
< r.gardner > lmao I didn't even notice oops...
...Actually, I know a lot of people that hate liars...
<CheeryCherry>
Is your dad one of them?

You said something before about not letting him know we were talking, though. That it might make him try and push a fight or something.
< r.gardner > ableism
I don't know why he's interested. I don't know if it matters to me anymore. We're not the same even if you aren't "normal" either. The reason I wanted to talk to you this time was something I decided on my own. If that makes him mad at anyone, it should be me for doing something unexpected, and he won't hurt me. You don't have to worry, Miss Riley. If I'm right, you're not in any more or less danger than before.
<CheeryCherry>
Are you sure he won't hurt you? Absolutely sure?
< r.gardner >
[If he wants to be perfect, he won't try to kill her, at least. He won't be like her last father.]
Even if he breaks that trust...it's difficult to hurt a slime. It's pretty amazing how durable this body is.
<CheeryCherry>
She doesn't like it even more than before. That she's already thought about what happens if he does hurt her... ]
Tell me if he does.
I mean, if you want to.
That's not the sort of thing someone should go through alone.
< r.gardner >
...Miss Riley, if that's the case why would someone get mad when you offered to listen?
<CheeryCherry>
Because sometimes the world doesn't work like it should.
Sometimes people get mad for reasons that don't make sense in retrospect.
Sometimes you don't have anyone to listen.
< r.gardner >
[She's not sure, really. It takes her a minute to get back to typing.]
Thank you. I think I understand. I thought maybe I did it wrong, but it sounds like it isn't something someone "normal" can always do either.
<CheeryCherry>

<CheeryCherry>
Your mom back home, before all this, you mean.
And she got mad at you just for asking? Your own mother did?
[ Oh. Oh, no. Well.
Riley will now die for you! ]
< r.gardner >
So that's why...it didn't make a lot of sense to me. Asking more then would have meant I wasn't listening to what she told me to do. That's why I never found out.
<CheeryCherry>
She stands there in shock because they never fought like that before. Not when her brother lived here. She tries to say something, but her mom snaps at her. "I need you to not be here, Riley."
Oh. ]
Your mom wasn't making sense to anyone. You were trying to do the right thing, Rachel. You didn't deserve her getting mad at you.
< r.gardner >
Okay.
[It wasn't like it mattered much now, anyway.]
<CheeryCherry>
If you have other questions about that kind of thing, I can try and answer them.
I'm not very good at it. But just if you're interested.
