I don't know if I've ever seen you type so much.
It sounds like our methods are somewhat similar. She sounds a lot more thought out than I was at the start, actually. I don't like the idea of them being spies, though. I also don't want to get caught up if someone is planning to use it as a Fog bargaining chip. What matters most to me are the kids I try to help. I don't want them to get involved in anything that could make them targets.
For that reason I have to decline. Anything that could reflect poorly back on them, I have to avoid.
All that aside. I am okay. I've gotten pretty good at dropping out nowhere and taking my targets away. I don't go after parents anymore, by the way. Not right now. If I can't support the kids after their parents are gone, it's just another way of hurting them, so I go after people who wrong them in other ways. One of the girls at the orphanage tells me about the teachers at school. That's where I've been starting.

[Don't embarrass her!!!]
It sounds like the humans went to find her after she killed a major bully. It's almost cute, isn't it?
[Them seeking her out, staying with her and wanting to help... Like they're hers. It must be a nice feeling.]
I didn't know you stopped. I guess that makes sense, though. The orphanage probably got pretty busy. Are they all still okay? You visit them, right? Some of those places are awful.
<CheeryCherry>
She has a thought, that it was brave of those kids to seek Niina out (Niina, she thinks she knows a Niina&mdash)— But she has to clear up any misconceptions about the orphanage right away, before. ]
I work there. I do whatever I can for whichever kids still want to see me. I know some of them are awful, or at least I know now.
I'm doing my part to make sure this isn't one of them.
< r.gardner >
Then I'm sure they're doing well. You really make people feel like they're important to you when you care about them. I know from experience.
And it would be pretty stupid for anyone to make their lives difficult when you're still around.
<CheeryCherry>
Some people may do that without realizing they are. That's when it starts to get difficult and complicated.
Thank you for saying that, though. I'm doing my best, but it's not just affection they need, it's resources. We're really understaffed, all the time, and I know that's my fault.
< r.gardner > cw starvation/child neglect and death mention
What sort of things do they need? I can't help with the staff part, but I have more savings than I need, especially now that I'm staying with Reira.
<CheeryCherry>
You'd really help pay for them?
It's not just one or two things. It's everything they could ever need. From school supplies to new clothes as they grow. That's not even counting things the facility itself needs. Honestly some kind of expansion might be nice, since it's all kind of cramped right now.
Frankly I don't know everything. I'm not the one who handles logistics.
< r.gardner >
I don't have that much money... I don't really know how much any of those things cost, either. I can give you some money now and send part of my paychecks in the future?
I've been meeting more people that sew and things, too. I can see if they'll help alter and fix clothes...but that only helps for so long.
I just gave Miss Mana a lot of my coins for something, but she could probably help. Reira and I each paid 40, but it was a place with a special spell. A normal expansion might cost less.
<CheeryCherry>
It's okay. I know it's all a lot. You don't have to go out of your way, Ray. You're a kid too.
We do have someone who can make and mend clothes. I hadn't considered asking Mana, though. I don't tend to be very good at wording those, but with enough crowdsourcing that may just work.
Of course then we'd have to figure out furnishings for the expansion and everything that comes with that...
< r.gardner >
Maybe you can ask for an exact duplication of the orphanage and its furnishings/appliances inside at the time of the request. Then you get double everything. I don't know what that will do to something like the electric or plumbing...
Oh! If if you're allowed to make double of everything inside that isn't living, then you can have a day where everyone brings a box of useful possessions they don't mind being duplicated. It would be really easy to get more clothes and toys that way, and maybe there I'll be people that decide they like being there and helping. I'd probably ask Miss Mana if that's possible before you make the deal, though. You can only meet with her once a month, but I don't know if you have as many coins as you'll need anyway. The first time can just be about questions.
<CheeryCherry>
A whole other building might be a little too much. Or, not too much, but I think we'd want to have everyone in the same place? Especially since for staff it's just the few of us. That's a good idea, though, some kind of duplication. Like most everyone has their own bed, but some of the kids, especially siblings, share dressers and nightstands, and that could help. Especially giving all of them a space of their own, if they want it.
I'll have to run all this by Fugo and Giorno, though. Before talking to Mana. They're the brains. And they can look for angles that I'd overlook.
< r.gardner >
Don't say the idea comes from me. I don't think Giorno likes me, so he might not listen to the idea if he knows.
<CheeryCherry>
What? Why would you think that?
< r.gardner >
<CheeryCherry>
Okay. Well, first of all, I've had very big disagreements with Giorno, but he has still heard me out. You're right in that he has things he doesn't budge on, just like you. But he can also be incredibly reasonable.
What matters most to him is the safety of those he's responsible for. That includes those kids. If I know him at all, I know even if he doesn't like you, which I doubt, he wouldn't turn away an idea just because it came from you. He'll set his personal feelings aside, if he has to.
< r.gardner >
????????
Being reasonable even though you're stubbornly devoted and protective?? For reasons that aren't selfish? Huh????]
I can't understand that at all, but that's really amazing if it's true...
<CheeryCherry>
He's a little contradictory at times, I know. But he's also amazing.
That's why I think it wouldn't matter if I mentioned this idea came from you. You've been here longer than both of us, even if you weren't here the WHOLE time, so I do think it's important advice to keep in mind. I don't think of Mana all the time, so I probably would've missed it.
