Is Clint being a little protective? Don't be stupid, he's protective of everyone. At least, that's what he tells himself.]
that's good to hear. i was worried.
[Since, um, the last time he remembered seeing Steve was the hazy memory of the creature masquerading as himself and leading the pooka down a dark hallway.]
uh, if you see him, tell him i'm sorry that the creature pretending to be me probably almost ate him?
i'm not going to be stupid and say that i know how you're feeling, because i don't, and i'm not going to give you some sort of unwarranted advice, because the last thing you need right now is some random adult talking down to you. but what i can offer you is another outlet, if you ever want to take it.
also, a free pizza voucher. if you eat pizza. and aren't lactose intolerant.
<CheeryCherry>
I will but he'll likely forgive you. He forgave me when that thing tried the same, after all.
[ And as for that other bit— ]
Really, I don't know what I've done to warrant something like this, but I'm not about to turn down a free food voucher. Did you ever find out if they do gluten-free?
[ Just play it off. Like nothing's wrong. (Didn't part of her want something like this? Doesn't it alwa—)
No. ]
<hawkeye>
and don't worry. i'm just checking in. it's my job as a superhero to look after the community and that kind of junk. you know. hero stuff. sometimes, that means offering people free pizza.
[He knows he can't really push her. But the door is open, if she wants to take it.]
<CheeryCherry> cw: parental neglect, unhealthy coping mechanisms 8|
It's basic, normal stuff. Why wouldn't it be? (She can't start growing complacent—) ]
Color me surprised! Thank you for looking into it. I don't think I would have been in the mood for it anyway.
There's some other kid around here yelling about being a hero without actually showing any sort of responsibility. I wish he would take a few lessons from someone like you instead.
<hawkeye>
really? huh. to be fair, i've run across my fair share of people claiming to be heroes without actually earning it.
i don't think people realize that you've gotta think about people first and foremost when it comes to any sort of 'heroics'. otherwise, what's the point?
<CheeryCherry>
He says he has a license. Really he's just a big bully.
<hawkeye>
license or not, that doesn't give you an excuse to just go around and have your way.
[he's a hypocrite because he's used the same excuse as being an avenger to skirt past rules and stuff and coast on good intentions but sometimes laws are fucked up, ok]
look at me. you're making me sound like a goody-two-shoes.
<CheeryCherry>
[ if only she could put together that he was the vigilante anon tbh ]
<hawkeye>
[One of whom is Captain America, who is literally America's Boy Scout.]
also, the first time i tried to be a hero i got mistaken for a burglar. so that was fun.
<CheeryCherry>
was it the mask???
superheroes have masks, i know that much
<hawkeye>
i mean if you saw someone running away from a jewelry store picking up a bag of stolen items from the ground, and then saw that person drop the items and run away, i think your natural conclusion would be that guy broke in, probably.
anyways the point is
i don't remember what my point was.
<CheeryCherry> | idk why she typed in lowercase in the last text ignore that
It's fine, I don't really get what the point is either.
<hawkeye>
anyways. uh. good talk. pizza later. cool!
[nailed it, clint.]
