✯ First Impressions

❃ VISUAL: Riley is 5'2" and every inch of that is BURSTING with energy. She's got toned arms and legs from countless hours of cheer workouts. Her bright red hair's usually up in a ponytail, tied with her orange ribbon, though if you do happen to find her with it down, it'll be around mid-back length. Long hair, Riley! Her eyes are a kind of...hazel-ish green color? Definitely a light gentle color.
❃ FASHION: As a girl from a well off family, Riley has the resources to live her style dreams! ...Those dreams are preppy, and....trying too hard?? Like, you'll get some nice skirts or polos, stretch pants and a ruffly tank top, but like. It always looks a little too well-coordinated?? Like it came right out of a magazine ad. She rarely mixes it up or acts adventurous with her clothing, and she always, always has that orange ribbon, even if it doesn't really go with what she wears.
❃ DEMEANOR: HERE'S RILEY, SHE'S 110% READY AND GOING TO GO AT HER PROBLEMS WITH A BIG SMILE AND A CHEER!! This is a girl who probably needs to have the energy dialed down. She tends to bounce on her toes and raise her chin and try to take command. She's also like...friendly? If you catch Riley without a smile on, that'll probably be a quick occurrence, because she likes to wear one of those, no matter the circumstances. If she lets it drop, then that's how you know things are bad. It's a bit far to say she's fake, but she's definitely practiced in how to act in front of others. Like she's always partway in a performance.
❃ AURAL: We'll start with singing, because that's easiest! The intro of the show does a good job of showcasing her voice, and there's some talking in here too. From everyone, but also from her. Riley's doing most of the singing here. She's always got this attentive, carefully enunciated way of speaking. It's very melodious, to go with her perky energy. She rarely drops it, but if she does, it's another "oh so this is serious" moment.
❃ OLFACTORY: I never know what to put for this. Probably like working too hard.

❃ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Riley probably won't initiate unless you get Close but she won't go out of her way to avoid them.

❃ RELATIONSHIPS: Riley is really focused on cheerleading? Also thinks she's straight which is hilarious. She has an unattainable crush on Jake Gyllenhaal but besides that she is a lesbian who hasn't figured out she's a lesbian. So, it's unlikely something will happen? But I'm open to things, should development lead to it!
❃ PLAYER PERMISSIONS: I have a few issues I would like to be careful about in RP. I would appreciate discussions of sexual abuse or rape be avoided in threads with me or discussed prior. If those could also be marked in general, that would be very appreciated. Similarly, if fingore could be marked, and to a lesser extent, suicide warned for. Thank you!
As of recently, in terms of Ryslig itself, I have found I do not enjoy the God War plot. I am absolutely fine playing with people who have pledged characters! But please understand if it comes up in threads, Riley will not be kind, so I would highly prefer to avoid it altogether. Please touch base with me for specifics.

❃ ALCOHOLISM: So, this isn't something Riley personally is dealing with, but one of her teammates is a full-on alcoholic. A fifteen-year-old alcoholic. Yeah. It might come up in conversation, but if you want to avoid that please let me know! I'll mark all conversations, just know if she starts talking about Farrah that might be a point of interest.
JANUARY 2022 UPDATE: As of recently, it may come up in discussions about her mother as well. This is a hot button issue to Riley, so if alcohol is mentioned it's likely to at least be brought up in narration.
❃ DRUG ADDICTION: Once again, Riley herself isn't having the issues, one of her teammates is. If discussion of painkiller addiction makes you uncomfortable, please let me know! I will again mark all mentions of it. The name you have to watch out for here is Chess (which is a real name in this show, I know).
❃ PARENTAL NEGLECT/EMOTIONAL ABUSE: This time it IS something that affects Riley! While it's not extreme in content, Riley's parents don't acknowledge her and haven't in years. As a result, she is incredibly self-sufficient but also incredibly attention-starved. I'll mark big things, but if you'd like to avoid it completely, let me know.
JANUARY 2022 UPDATE: The more it's been explored, the more it is more extreme in content. Adding on an emotional abuse clarifier, as that is what her parents' treatment of her qualifies as.
❃ UNTREATED MENTAL ILLNESS: A broad topic that's incredibly hard to warn for, but as Riley's in the middle of a psychotic breakdown I figured it was important to. She experiences intense anxiety, some dissociation and derealization, and a general cornucopia of homicidal intrusive thoughts. I'll be marking everything I can appropriately, but if you'd prefer to just not deal with it, let me know, or just give me the heads up not to tag you! I want to be respectful of everyone's wishes.
